Child safety week 2017: Turtle Pack is passionate about keeping children safe
Child safety week 2017 is upon us, as well as being passionate about teaching kids to swim properly, we are also extremely passionate about keeping children safe. This is why we wholeheartedly support Child Safety Week, which runs from today (5 June) until the 11th of June.
Child Safety Week is run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented. They provide a range of resources to help practitioners run local activities and events and promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.
The theme of Child Safety Week is ‘Safe children: sharing is caring’
The theme of this child safety week is Safe children: sharing is caring. We all have a part to play in sharing the responsibility for preventing accidents among children. This is why everyone at Turtle Pack wanted to help spread awareness of such an amazing campaign.
The campaign organisers have created a fantastic action pack which is full of information for parents, activity ideas, hints and tips for a successful event or session. Of course Turtle Pack will focus on the drowning element of the campaign for obvious reasons, however, the rest of the content is just as important, such as:
- Burns and Scalds
- Road Safety
- Fire Safety, and much more.
The CAPT are a small national charity and donations are vital in helping them continue their work. If you do download their action pack or any of their social media support content, please consider a small donation. Please support their work to stop children dying in preventable accidents. You can donate here to their JustGiving Page.
Child Safety Week: Social Media To Help Spread The Word
Social media is a great tool for sharing content quickly, this is especially true for a cause as important as this one. So please don’t forget to share this blog. Plus, feel free to create and post your own content – CAPT and their partners are looking forward to seeing what everyone puts online in the coming week. We are sure they will be ready and waiting to retweet and share some of your ideas.
